Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a miniature and low cost memory device suited for microprocessor systems by using a memory medium of a slender tube form. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical magnetic memory medium 1 comprieses coating magnetic material on the surface of the tube and is rotated by a drive motor 3, at the same instant of which it is transferred with information by a magnetic head 2. The medium 1 is removable from the apparatus and is fixed to plural supporting means 4 and the shaft of the drive motor 3. As the supporting means 4 are detached from the medium, the medium may be pulled out by hands, thus the preservation of the information may be accomplished by interchanging a plurality of media. Since the medium is miniature and is of such a size at which it can be put on the palm of the hand, the memory device may be miniaturized as well.
