Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the title composition having excellent flame retardancy, impact strength and transparency, and free from emission of toxic gas by combustion, by compounding as specific sulfonic acid salt-substituted alkyl ester of a carboxylic acid to a polycarbonate resin.
CONSTITUTION: The title composition is prepared by blending (A) a polycarbonate resin (pref. bisphenol-type) and (B) 0.001W2.0 wt%, pref. 0.01W1.0 wt% of a mono- or polybasic carboxylic acid ester of the formula [R is 1-4C halogen-substituted and/or non- substituted aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon; m is 1W6; when m is 1, Y is formula II (R' is 1-10C alkylene, M is alkali or alkaline earth metal); when m≥2, Y is H, formula II, or 1-20C aliphatic or aromatic group; at least one of the Y's is formula II.], e.g. 1-acetoxybutane-3-sulfonic acid sodium salt, etc., by, e.g. super mixer.
