Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a heat exchanger operating as an evaporator from frosting by detecting the evaporating temperature of refrigerant in the heat exchanger and controlling the revolution of a motor driven compressor so that the evaporating temperature becomes substantially constant.
CONSTITUTION: The revolution R of a motor driven compressor is so varied as to indicate a curve shown in a right graph with respect to the variations of refrigerant evaporating temperature T in a heat exchanger operating as an evaporator at dehumidifying time. That is, when the temperature T is lowered, the revolution R is decreased to prevent the decrease in the temperature T, while when the temperature T is raised, the revolution R is increased to prevent the increase in the temperature T. Thus, the refrigerant evaporating temperature can be retained substantially constand regardless of the load applied to an air conditioner. Accordingly, it can prevent frosting of the heat exchanger due to the decrease of the load variations and reduce the necessary power for operation so as to save the operating energy.
