Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a waste water treating method, according to which granular particles having microbes attached thereto and cultivated thereon are introduced together with treated water into a water discharge system at the upper surface of an expansion located downwardly of overflow surface in the treatment tank, so as to separate microbes in said water discharge system, whereby it is enabled to treat waste water in simple and efficient manner and with less troubles.
CONSTITUTION: Waste water to be treated is introduced into treatment tank 1 from its bottom, and as waste water flows upward in the tank 1, it is cleaned with microbes attached to granular particles of active carbon, plastics or the like. Granular particles suspended in the tank 1 are taken out, together with a small amount of treated water and in a rather concentrated state, into separating means 2 from water discharge pipe 15 disposed downwardly of overflow surface 4. In the above arrangement, a means 16 for detecting the interface of fluidized layer is provided at the level where opening of the pipe 15 is located, so as to detect thak granular particles 10 are floated to the level of fluidized layer. In the separating means 2, impulsive or frictional force is applied to the particles 10 to separate microbes attached to the same. Then, separated microbes are subjected to treatment, whereas granular particles removed of microbes are returned to tank 1.
