Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent reaction product due to water leakage in a secondary cooling device for a fast breeder from being fed to drain pipe or valve by separating the product by a reaction product separator.
CONSTITUTION: Reaction product is flown from a steam generator 1 due to leaked water occurred at the generator 1 into a main pipe 3 together with sodium. Since a sealing valve 8 is not instantaneously closed even if water leakage accident is detected upon occurrence of the accident, the sodium flow transiently exists. Even if the sodium flow is stopped, sodium hydroxide is fed from the generator 1 to the pipe 3 and retained at the bottom of the pipe 3. This sodium hydroxide is fed from the bottom of the pipe 3 into a reaction product separator 11 due to their specific weight difference therebetween to push up the sodium at the bottom of the separator 11 to cause the sodium hydroxide to be retained on the bottom. Thus, the sodium hydroxide is separated.
