PURPOSE: To raise the quality of welding according to various conditions involving the unevennes of welded products, etc., by controlling arc time by calculating arc time by taking account of the speed of heating, pressure welding condition, the conducted heat quantity of metal to be welded, cross section, arc current, voltage, etc..
CONSTITUTION: By measring the welding sectional areas S1 and S2, the arc current IW and the arc voltage VW of power source are set up so as to obtain a desired heating speed j. Then, the IW and VW are measured until a time corresponding to approx. one half of the arc time Ta obtainable from the value of the heating speed j in order to calculate (Iw .
