Abstract
PURPOSE: A drainer for steel pipe capable of effectively draining water inside pipe, having a mechainsm in which a specifically mechanized drainer transfer device is provided between quencher and tempering furnace and the slanting transfer of pipe is made.
CONSTITUTION: The water present inside quenched steel pipe is drained before charging it into tempering furnace in a manner that steel pipe is tranferred sideways while being slanted by drainer for water draining. The sidewise tranfer operation is made by rising the drain tranferring part 11 provided on the movable frame 12 by shortening the rod 18a of the oil pressure cylinder 18 and by pulling the rise and fall levers 14a and 14b to lift the steel pipe 9A on the table roller 4a to the position 9B and then to move the 9B to the position above 9C by moving the movable frame 12 to the right by the shift cylinder 19. Afterwards, the movable frame 12 is lowered to put the steel on the position 9C of the uneven shape 10 and then to move it to the left side at the bottom. This operation is made by turns to tranfer the steel pipe 9 on the slant, so that the water present inside the steel pipe can be completely drained.
