Abstract

PURPOSE: To constitute a simple circuit which can turn off surely, by adding a reverse current supply circuit, which utilizes a snubber circuit provided with a gate turn-off SCR, to a turn-off circuit which supplies the off current.
CONSTITUTION: In gate turn-off SCR 1 where a snubber circuit obtained by connecting snubber capacitor 4 in series to a parallel circuit of snubber diode 2 and snubber resistance 3 is connected between the anode and the cathode, a series circuit of reverse current supplying SCR 21 and reverse current supplying capacitor 22 is connected in parallel to the snubber circuit. Further, auxiliary charging power source 23, which gives charge to capacitor 22, and auxiliary charging impedance 24 are connected in parallel to capacitor 22. Then, the load current during the turn- off period of SCR 1 is made invariable; and after SCR 1 is turned off, approximately all load current is flown to SCR 21, capacitor 22 and capacitor 4 to charge capacitor 22. When the voltage becomes zero, diode 2 is made conductive to turn off SCR 21, and capacitor 22 is charged by power source 23 again to increase the voltage capacitor 4 to DC power source voltage Vd.
