Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce emitting of harmful component, enabling combustion in lean mixture, by providing the ignition system to activate the mixture in the radical formation chamber provided in the combustion chamber.
CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical housing 61 having radical formation chamber 20 is installed to the cylinder head 12 formed a combustion chamber 11, a electrode 23 of the first spark plug 21 is inserted into the chamber 20. Furthermore this chamber 20 is connected to the combustion chamber 11 through the throttle hole 19 having flashless effect, and the second spark plug 22 is arranged on the combustion chamber 11 around the throttle hole 19. The first spark plug 21 is discharged continuously with the first high voltage generator 30, 40 the mixture in the chamber 20 is activated, combustion in the combustion chamber 11 is carried out excellently.
