Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an exhaust gas sampling apparatus in a simple structure and capable of blowing back the filter, while maintaining the idea of sucking exhaust gas in a large quantity by using an aspirator (ejector).
CONSTITUTION: When introducing exhaust gas into an analytical apparatus 13, a valve 9 is closed, and valves 8, 10, 17 are opened. Then, operating a pump 12, the exhaust gas sucked into a filter chamber 2 through a gas sampling pipe 5 by its sucking force can be led into the analytical apparatus 13 through a filter 3 and a conductive pipe 19. At this time, by sending compressed air from a conductive pipe 20 into an aspirator 7, the gas containing soot which has been sucked into the filter chamber 2 may be discharged through a small hole 4, suction chamber 18, and a short pipe 6. In the case of blowback, when compressed air is sent in from the conductive pipe 20, the air blows the surface of the filter 3 from the small hole 4 by way of the short pipe 6, suction chamber 18, so that the soot deposited on the filter may be blown off.
