Abstract
PURPOSE: To permit a necessary minimum control on the storage amount of hot reduced iron by preventing mal-operation and also by smoothing the flow of reduced iron by the procedure in which the intermittent discharge operation of cold reduced iron s controlled according to the forced cutting amount of hot reduced iron.
CONSTITUTION: When the integrating amount of forced cutting reaches a set intermittent discharge amount, the controller 29 controls the upper clossing valve 33 to discharge cold reduced iron by gravity in the cooling tank 31. The discharged cold reduced iron is housed in the uniform discharge tank 32 and then weighed 38, where when the set value is reached, the valve 33 is closed. Then, the controller 29 opens the clossing valve 25 and thus hot reduced iron in the hopper 24 is discharged by gravity to the cooling tank 31 in the same amount as the cold reduced iron discharged from the tank 31 in advance. After being cooled, the hot reduced iron is discharged from the tank 31 through the conduit pipe 32 of the uniform discharge tank 32. Subsequently, the lower clossing valve 36 is opened to discharge a fixed amount of cold reduced iron. The repetition of these operations enables the continuous cutting discharge of hot reduced iron and constant intermittent discharge of cold reduced iron to balance quantitively.
