Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit determination as to whether or not an IC regulator is normal from the terminal voltage of a capacitor without removing the regulator by providing a resistor for impressing a voltage upon the field winding of the regulator.
CONSTITUTION: When a switch 19 is closed, current is caused to flow through a resistor 25, a field winding 2 and a transistor 7 if an IC regulator B is normal. At this time, a transistor 28 is off, and a capacitor 23 is charged by the output of a DC-DC converter 20. When the voltage across the capacitor 23 exceeds the regulation voltage of the regulator A, a transistor 7 is cut off. At this time, a zener diode 27 and a transistor 28 are turned on, and the capacitor 23 is discharged through a voltmeter 24. The voltmeter 24 indicates the output voltage of the DC-DC converter 20 when the transistor 7 is shunted and the ratio of voltage division between resistors 21 and 29 when the transistor is opened. Thus, whether the IC regulator is normal or not can be determined without removing the regulator.
