Abstract

PURPOSE: To devise to promote the speed of reply as short as the time equivalent to the fixed period of an eddy signal by counting constant clock pulses during a fixed period for finding the repetitive period of the eddy signal given by an eddy generator.
CONSTITUTION: When sucked air passes through a suction pipe 4 of an engine, Karman eddies are given by a Karman eddy generator 3. A semiconductor distortion gauge 11a is provided in the centre of slits 31 and 32 of a Karman eddy generator. The period of the eddy generation is detected by the semiconductor distortion gauge as a voltage signal and shaped into a pulse signal of rectangular wave to be output. This pulse signal is divided into two in a frequency dividing circuit 17, and clock pulses from a clock pulse generating circuit are permitted to pass through by a gate circuit 13 as long as the pulse signal is output from this frequency dividing circuit 17, and supplied to a counter 14.
