Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease a thrust applied to a steam turbine and to raise the efficiency of the turbine by constituting same such that a gap is formed between a lower face of the base end of a turbine blade and an outer periphery of a rotor which gap is utilized as a balance hole.
CONSTITUTION: When a corrugated projection 17 of a turbine blade 15 is fitted in a groove 12 extending along the axis of a rotor 11, a gap 20 is formed between a lower face of the base end of the turbine blade projection 17 and an outer periphery of the rotor, and a lug 13 for holding a key 14 to fix the blade 15 is provided on the rotor outer periphery. The gap 20 extending along the axis of the rotor serves as a balance hole, and pressures P1, P2, P3 of main steam S0 in each flow passage have an interrelation P2>P1>P3 thereby eliminating disturbance of main steam flow to attain an efficient running of the turbine and decreasing a thrust applied to the turbine rotor 11.
