Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus capable of stopping a train at a predetermined position, without making ride on the train uncomfortable and without degrading accuracy, in which more than two kinds of equal-pitch stranded loop wires are employed and pitches of the loop wires are varied with gradient of the track.

CONSTITUTION: A braking control circuit provided on train determines the train speed at the time point when the train passes through nodes of stranded loop wire 1, from the number of signals corresponding to the nodes, and exerts a braking force such that train speed becomes equal to a prescribed speed. In case of stopping train 12 at stop point 11 located at a portion of downward slope that consists of two sections respectively having gradient ϕ₁ and ϕ₂, pitch P of loop wire 13 is selected at a long pitch P₁ to suit gradient ϕ₁, and that of loop 14 is selected at a pitch P₂ shorter than P₁ to suit the gradient ϕ₂. Further, pitch of loop 15 is selected at P₃ longer than P₁ to moderate the change of speed reducing rate at the time immediately before train 12 is stopped.
