Abstract
PURPOSE:To better the gas circulation without increasing the blower capacity and thus to increase the cooling efficiency by providing the switch which performs the control so that the other electrode may not discharge while one of the two electrodes discharges. CONSTITUTION:Discharge tube 1 and 2 discharge the laser beam generated through excitation of gas 13 filled inside, along with the discharge through electrode 6 and 7 provided at the both ends of the discharge tube. At the same time, cooling path 23 is provided to circulate gas 13 from part of the discharge tube in which both electrodes correspond to each other through the both ends of the discharge tube. Then a switch is provided to the electrode to give control so that the other electtrode may not discharge while one of the both electrodes is discharging. As a result, the gas circulation can be improved without increasing the capacity of blower 12, thus increasing the cooling efficiency.
