Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent conspicuous cold draft by providing an automatic thermal expansion valve with a control element of a thermal sensor cylinder in a refrigerant pipe and giving a heat exchanging function to the thermal sensor cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: An automatic thermal expansion valve 3 is provided in a refrigerant pipe connecting between a condenser 2 and an evaporator 4, while a thermal sensor cylinder 5 is attached to a refrigerant pipe between the exit of the evaporator 4 and the suction port of a compressor 1 as a control element to regulate the opening of the expansion valve for detecting the temperature of low pressure refrigerant, and the opening of the valve is regulated by the elasticity difference between the pressure inside the thermal sensor cylinder 5 and an elasticity-adjusting spring related to the valve body of the expansion valve 3. An electric heater 6 is set near the thermal sensor 5 to exchange heat and connected with a variable resistance 7 in series. This construction serves to prevent conspicuous cold draft.
