Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:Title compounds of formulaI(R is lower alkyl; R1 is linear hydrocarbyl that may be substituted with cyclic hydrocarbyl group on the terminal; n is 0, 1-9, R2 is H or R when n is 0 and H when n is 1-9; R3 is R; R4-5 are H, R respectively; R6-7 are carboxyl groups that may be amidized respectively) or their salts.
EXAMPLE: 2-[2-Acetamide-2-deoxy-6-0-(geranylacetyl-β-alanyl)-D-glucose-3-0-yl]-D- propionyl-L-alanyl-D-iso-glutamine sodium salt.
USE: Title compounds have low toxicity and excellent action to increase immunological function thus being useful as anti-infective, carcinostatics, and synthetic intermediates of high-polymeric glucosamine derivatives.
PREPARATION: The condensation reaction between a compound of formula II (R4'-7' are R4-7 or the hydroxyl groups and others of which are protected and a compound of formula III is conducted and when necessary, protecting groups are removed to produce the objective compound of formulaI.
