Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus, which can be also used in treating those waste matters that are difficult to dispose and is also capable of melting ash in extremely smooth manner.
CONSTITUTION: Shaft portion A is provided at a place contiguous with the combustion zone of a stoker type combustion furnace, and ash discharged from the stoker is filled in the shaft portion A. At the bottom of shaft portion A, there is provided a pusher 9 for pushing ash into melting chamber 12. Ash in the chamber 12 is molten by burner 13. Molten ash is dropped into water and taken out to the outside in the form of solidified sludge.
