Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an electrolytic chemiluminescent compsn. made of chloroform or methylene chloride soln. contg. a predetermined ratio of rubrene or its derivative dissolved. The compsn. can be used without degassing or dehydration and shows superior luminous intensity.
CONSTITUTION: The electrolytic chemiluminescent compsn. is made of chloroform or methylene chloride soln. contg. more than 0.01mol/l of rubrene (5,6,11,12- tetraphenylnaphthacene) or its derivative dissolved. As the derivative, a rubrene derivative having an electron donative substituent such as alkyl or alkoxy in its substd. phenyl can also be used effectively. In order to lower the electric resistance of the compsn., about 0.5 mol/l of a supporting electrolyte such as tetra-n-butylammonium borofluoride may be added.
