CONSTITUTION:A double film recording medium is composed with high coercive force magnetic film 4 in the lower layer and low coercive force magnetic film 5 in the upper layer. First signals are recorded into the both magnetic film in high magnetic field by inclining the recording head by 1/2 of the azimuth angle phi. Then, inclining the recording head in the reverse direction by 1/2 of the azimuth angle phi, and signals are recorded in low magnetic field. Thus, since the medium 4 of the lower layer has high corcive force, it is not influenced by low magnetic field, and the previous pattern 6 remains as it has been. On the other hand, since the upper layer film body 5 has low coercive force, the previous recording is erased even if signals are recorded in low magnetic field, and a new recording pattern 7 will be recorded. By adjusting the gap of the reading head to the angle of pattern 7 of film body 5 when reading out, the record 6 on the film body 4 may not be read out by the azimuth loss, and only the record 7 on the film body 5 will be read out.
