Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate resumption of the engine and reduce harmful gas by specifying cooling water in the carburetor.
CONSTITUTION: A storage tank 10 is provided at a higher level than a carburetor 3, and the latter is connected to the former through a heated water chamber 9 mounted on an exhaust tube 9, a duct 12 and a condenser 11. The former is also connected to the latter through a duct 13 provided with a valve 24, a jacket chamber 14, a water duct 21 within the carburetor 3 and a duct 23 provided with a check valve 22. During the operation of the engine, the valve 24 is closed, and water in the heated water chamber 9 is heated and evaporated by the heat of the exhaust gas and fed through the condenser 11 to the storage tank 10 to be stored therein. When the engine is stopped, the water stored in the storage tnak 10 is allowed to fall by its own weight down to the heated water chamber 10 and cools the carburetor 3 as it passed through the water duct 21. Thus, when the engine is stopped, generation of gas by evaporation in the carburetor 3 is restricted. In this way, the engine can be readily resumed with intake of rich air-fuel mixture, and also harmful gas such as HC can be reduced.
