Abstract
PURPOSE: To simply install honeycomb-shaped catalyst into a reactor in a short period so that a gas leak may not occur, by engaging vertical support members provided at both sides of a frame element packed with a number of the catalyst with many guide frames attached to the inside of the reactor, followed by bringing into close contact with each other.
CONSTITUTION: Catalyst support unit 1 is formed by providing vertical support members 6 at both sides of a frame element packed with a number of honeycomb- shaped catalyst 9. A plurality of units 1 are successively hung up by a hoist. Each unit 1 is placed between vertical guide frames 14 attached to the inside of a reactor by moving the hoist along a rail, and it is suspended downward while engaging members 6 of unit 1 with frames 14. Similarly, other units 1 are piled up in succession. Hundle 21 is then rotated to move each unit 1 in the exhaust gas flow direction of arrows A14 by means of pressing pin 20, and member 6 and frame 14 facing to the exhaust gas downstream side are brought into contact with each other to fix unit 1. Accordingly, exhaust gas is surely passed through catalyst 9.
