Abstract
PURPOSE:To change frequencies depending upon the amounts of a plurality of materials without changing frequency temperature characteristics by coating said materials in such places where no influences are given to coupling between longitudinal vibrations. CONSTITUTION:A piezoelectric vibrator 1 consists of a vibrating part 2, supporing part 3 and bridge part 4 and its electrode employs a full face electrode system. Broken lines 5, 6 respectively indicate the tangents which occur when the vibrating part 2 vibrates longitudinally in its short side direction. This vibrator 1 is mounted by bonding a supporing material to a supporting part 3. This vibrator 1 is mounted by bouding a supporting material to a supporting part 3. Materials 7 composed of a metal or insulator are coated at four corners of the vibrating parts 2. If these coatings at four points are of the similar thickness and size, the change in frequency owing to mass effect may be caused without accompanying any change in frequency temperature characteristics. In order to change the frequency, the frequency is lowered until the desired frequency is obtained by removing the weights and matching or the frequency is lowered by gradually increasing the thickness of the weights.
