Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a converter circuit including two wire-four wire conversion used for a time-division switching unit which can prevent the generation of a ringing tone, by stopping the clock of an analog-to-digital modem circuit interlocking with the DC loop disconnection at the two-wire side. CONSTITUTION:Signals sent from telephone set 1 are supplied, by way of two wire-four wire converter circuit 42 with subscriber's circuit 3 and balancing connection network 41 and level converter circuit 42, to modulator circuit 43, where they are converted into digital signals before transmitted to time-division channel 5 via register 44. The received signals, on the other hand, are supplied via register 44' to demodulator 45, where they are converted into analog signals, and they are supplied to converter 40 via level converter 42'. Subscriber DC loop detection circuit 30 in subscriber's circuit 3 controls clock stop circuit 46 through the disconnection of the DC loop, thereby stopping the supply of clock 47 to modulator 43 and demodulator 45.
