Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an emergency lamp system, which is designed to vary the brightness of an emergency lamp in accordance with the adaptability curve of human eyes and to fix the brightness of the lamp at a level conforming to the brightness of external light, whereby it is enabled to make an efficent use of a limited amout of electric power, without adversely affecting its performance for guiding people at the time of emergency.
CONSTITUTION: When interruption of power supply at power source section 7 is detected by detecting section 2, emergnecy power source section 1 is connected in the circuit via control contact 3. At the same time, a control signal corresponding to the adaptability curve of human eyes is supplied from adaptability controlling section 10 to brightness controlling section 4, so that lamp 5 of emergency lamp lighing section 6 is adjusted at a level along the adaptability curve through control of its driving current. At the time when human eyes are adapted to the circumferential brightness, a reference signal preset in fixed-level determining section 11 is supplied to the brightness controlling section 4 to keep the brightness of the lamp 5 at a fixed level. Here, the level of brightness of lamp 5, determined by the output signal of external light detecting signal generating section 12, is controlled in accordance with external light X.
