Abstract
PURPOSE: To detect the adaptability of disc loading easily, by displaying the distinction of the face and back of double side flexible disc selected for reading and writing by reflectance distinguishing means and display means.
CONSTITUTION: To cause a disc 10 to perform reading or writing of information with respect to the side face of disc main body 11, when a jacket 12 is installed in a drive device so that the surface 120 thereof may oppose a head 20, since the reflectance of the black surface 120 is low, the level of photoelectric conversion signal emitted from a photo sensor 31 is low, and the signal inputted into a comparator 33 from a pre-amplifier 32 is lower than the level of the comparison reference value, so that a display means 3 displays "0". Therefore, the operator can visually confirm that the face of the disc 10 is selected and the reading and writing of information are accomplished. To the contrary, when the jacket 12 is inserted so that the back 121 thereof may oppose the head 20, the display means displays "1" by contrast. Thus, the adaptability of disc loading may be easily detected.
