Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the reliability of the insulation of a salient-pole rotor by providing a plurality of vent holes communicating in magnetic pole height direction with a plurality of cooling fins provided in the outer surface height direction of salient-pole field winding to thereby prevent dusts from accumulating on the corner of the fins.
CONSTITUTION: In order to inprove the cooling effect in a salient-pole field winding 7, a plurality of vent holes 10 communicating in magnetic pole height direction are provided at a plurality of fins 7a provided with winding projected in every plural turns. Thus, since cooling air flows through the holes 10 without stop as designated by an arrow, it can prevent dusts from accumulating on the corner of the fins 7a as mixed in the cooling air so as to eliminate secular change of winding insulating layer. Since rate of the cooling air to that flowing out in the magnetic pole height is greater, as in the vicinity of the axial center, it is effective to provide densely the holes 10 as near the center as possible.
