Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A derivative of phenoxyacetic acid amide of formula I (R1= methyl, henyl; R2=lower alkyl, allyl, cyclohexyl; X=methyl, Cl).
EXAMPLE: A compound of formula I (R1=CH3; R2=CH3; X=CH3).
USE: Herbicide, having stable herbicidal effects. Being highly effective to grasses of echinochloa and Scirpus and almost harmless to rice plant, this herbicide can be used from comparatively early growing stage, and for a long period.
PROCESS: For example, a sulphonamide of formula II and a phenoxyacetic acid chloride of formula III are allowed to react n an inert organic solvent in the presence of a salt-forming agent or an HCl scavenger to give the objective compound of formula I.
