Abstract
PURPOSE: To cheaply produce oxygen-enriched air by separating an adsorbent into a portion where the air is produced and a portion where the used adsorbent is regenerated, and using hot air, in the regeneration, heat exchanged for combustion exhaust gas.
CONSTITUTION: Air J to be enriched is fed to vessel 20 through valve 16 to eliminate N2 and moisture by adsorption with adsorbent 10a, and supplied to the next process through valve 12 as oxygen-enriched air G. On the other hand, regenerating hot air I heated by heat exchange for hot exhaust gas from a burner is fed to vessel 21 through valve 15 to heat adsorbent 10b. Thus, N2 and moisture adsorbed onto adsorbent 10b are released and exhausted through valve 19 together with the air. After a predetermined period, the valves are changed and regenerating air I is introduced into adsorbent 10a to regenerate it. Oxygen-enriched air G is produced through adsorbent 10b.
