Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a coating composition having excellent electric wave absorbability, composed of ferrite powder and carbon powder dispersed in a coating vehicle.
CONSTITUTION: A coating composition composed of (A) black or brown ferrite powder having particle diameters of 0.05-1μ, and prepared by wet process, such as by-production ferrite, (B) carbon powder such as carbon pigment for coating, graphite, pine soot, etc., and (C) a vehicle for coating as a dispersing medium. The amounts of the components are adjusted to give a dried coating film containing 5-55 vol% of the ferrite powder, 1-30vol% of the carbon powder, and 10-56vol% of the sum of the ferrite and the carbon powder. The coating film has only poor electric wave absorbability when the sum of the powder is less than 10vol%, and poor corrosion resistance when it exceeds 56vol%
