Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the impregnating property of the insulated layer formed by winding a plastic tape including polyolefin or a compound tape made of this material and a kraft paper around a conductuve material through impregnation of diarly alkane with a specified viscosity.
CONSTITUTION: An insulated layer formed by winding a plastic tape such as polyolefin, polycarbonate, polyester, and polyethylene tetrafluoride and a compound tape made of this material and a kraft paper around a conductive material is impregnated with a diaryl alkanic hydrocarbon with a viscosity of less than 23c St at 30°C. For the diarly alkane, applicable is 2, 3 diphenyl isopentane and 1, 6 d iphenyl isooctane, for instance. For the plastic tape, ideal is a biaxial drawn polypropylene with a thickness of 50 to 100μ, for instance. With such an arrangement, less resistance of oil flow improves the impregnating property thereby reducing change in the oil pressure associated with a load variation. In this manner, cable excellent in the insulation property can be produced
