Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the welding efficiency of submerged arc welding by a method in which a filler metal bar is placed in beveling portion covered with flux and then the core wire and the filler metal bar are melted for welding.
CONSTITUTION: The snap metal 4 is placed on the back of the beveling of the base metal 3, and then the TIG welding core wire 9 consisting of single or plural filler metal bars are inserted into the beveling portion and covered with the flux 2. Then, core wire 1 is thrust into the flux 2 to make a submerged welding. Because arc during welding occurs under the condition of being covered with the flux 2, the concentration of heat can be attained, and therefore the TIG core wire 9 is completely melted. The molten core wire 1 and the TIG core wire soldify as the welding proceeds to constitute the deposited metal 7. In this method, if the kind of filler metal is changed, a variously combined welding can be made
