Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture sintered ore giving guarantee for stable blast furnace operation by regulating the MgO content and basicity of the product sintered ore to each specific range.
CONSTITUTION: A MgO-contg. substance is added to sintering raw materials so that the MgO content of the resulting sintered ore becomes 1.0W3.0 wt% and the basicity (CaO/SiO2) 1.1W1.4, followed by sintering. By this sintering method high m.p. sintered ore is manufactured and the powdering tendency due to low temp. reduction is improved. Using the sintered ore in blast furnace operation the coke ratio is lowered and the hot iron ratio is increased.
