Abstract

PURPOSE: To fulfill the turbine function with a high efficienct even when steam containing a plenty of uncondensed gas is used, by heating stationary blades to prevent water drops from occurring in the low pressure stage of steam turbine.
CONSTITUTION: An outer annula chamber 9 is defined around a casing 8 surrounding the low pressure stage of steam turbine. Steam for heating the stationary blades is supplied into the outer annular chamber 9. The hollow stationary blades 7 are connected at their radially outer ends to the outer annular chamber 9. An inner annular chamber 11 is connected to the inner ends of the stationary blades 7. A drain port 18 is opened into the outer annular chamber 9. A divided chamber 14 is defined in the upper part of the outer annular chamber 9. An exhaust port 17 is opened into the divided chamber 14 to discharge the uncondensed gas out of the outer annular chamber 9. Since the uncondensed gas is discharged when the partial pressure of steam is lowest, the steam loss due to the discharge is suppressed
