Abstract

PURPOSE: A high polymer substrate having improved water and oil repellency, non-blocking properties, low coefficient of friction, bio-adaptability, chemical resistance, and transparency, comprising a discharge graft (co) polymer layer of fluorine-contaning unsaturated monomer on the surface.
CONSTITUTION: A layer of a discharge graft (co) polymer consisting of a fluorine- containing unsaturated monomer is formed on the surface of a high polymer substrate, e.g. polythylene, regenerated cellulose, polyvinyl chloride, polyester, polycarbonate, etc, in the form of a block, plate ro film. The substrate is exposed to high-voltage discharge in an active or inactive gas to form active sites on the surface, which are brought into contact with a fluorine-containing unsaturated monomer, e.g. a methyl methacrylate derivative, etc., thus forming a graft (co) polymer layer on the surface
