The diisobutyl ketone fraction contains diisobutyl ketone as a principal component and small amounts of 4,6-dimethyl-2-heptanone, diisobutyl carbinol, etc. In the alkali treatment, 0.1W10wt.% aqueous solution of NaOH, etc. is preferably used.
