Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a pigment-adhered fluorescent substance compsn. with no exfoliation of pigment particles by adding an org. preservative to a pigment-adhered fluorescent substance in which pigment particles adhere to the surface of the substance with a mixed film of gelatin and gum arabic so as to prevent the film from decay.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent substance is uniformly dispersed in a less than 5% dil. aq. soln. of gelatin or gum arabic. On the other hand, pigment particles are uniformly dispersed, e.g. in a dil. aq. soln. of gum arabic when gelatin is used to disperse the substance. Next the dispersions are mixed with stirring and adjusted to pH 3.0W7.0 to preciptitate the particles adhered to the surface of the substance. The precipitates are then washed and dried to form a pigment-adhered fluorescent substance. 100 parts by wt. of this substance are uniformly mixed with 0.01W1 part by wt. of an org. preservative such as salicylic acid by a mechanical means to obtain a desired pigment-adhered fluorescent substance compsn
