Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide te title device having reduced percentage of defective pellets, comprising a straightening guide mounted on and protruded from the back of a chute or which a number of molten strands flow down.
CONSTITUTION: A pelletizing device 3 placed under a die head 1 having a plurality of die openings 2 from which a number of molten strands S are extruded, consisting of (1) a declined chute 4 comprising a first chute part 5, a second chute part 8, and a third chute part 9, wherein said first chute part being furnished with a number of parallel guide grooves 12 to guide said molten strands and to form a uniform film of cooling water, and (2) a cutting apparatus placed just below said third chute part 9 and composed of a pair of feed rollers 21 to apply a proper tension to said strands S and a cutter 24, characterized in that said second chute part 8 being furnished at the back of its upper part with a straightening guide 30 consisting of a rod-like guide 35 having a length somewhat shorter than the width of the chute and placed perpendicular to the grooves 12, both ends of said straightening guide 30 being supported by a pair of curved arms 33, 34 secured to the both ends of an axis 32 which is rotatably supported with bearings 31 fixed to a pair of side plates 14
