Abstract
PURPOSE: To reproduce the video signal accurately and clearly, by increasing the response speed through giving high pulse to the optical media such as liquid crystal and controlling the intermediate tone with the average value of the voltage in proportional to the video signal.
CONSTITUTION: In the matrix display circuit, the video signal sampled is fed to lines 2a, 2b..., and sequential pulses are fed to lines 1a, 1b.... They are held in the memory capacitor Cgaa via the first FET3aa of the unit circuit UCij. On the other hand, a given voltage is fed to the second memory capacitor CLaa through the diode 5aa, and the charge stored is gradually discharged through the second FET 4aa. A voltage is fed to the gate of FET with the capacitor Cgaa at the level of video signal, and since the equivallent resistance is changed in proportion to the signal, the time constant of discharge is proportional to each signal, and the average voltage during the one sampling period is proportional to the video signal, enabling to preform intermediate tone display with the liquid crystal Laa.
