Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish smooth compression, crushing, and discharge of wastes through feeding and compression thereof by means of an impeller provided close to an upper feed inlet of a storage tank and delivery thereof by means of an impeller close to lower discharge port.
CONSTITUTION: Wastes fed into a dust chute 6 is temporarily stored on an upper impeller 2 at an inlet 11. When reaching a given level, the wastes are raked down into a storage tank 1 with the rotation of the impeller as actuated by a level gauge. When the level of the storage in the tank reaches the lower surface of the impeller 2, the compression of the wastes starts. When the force-in resistance of the impeller exceeds a certain value, a torque detector incorporated into a drive gear 3 is actuated to stop the impeller 2. The interlock at the feed port 11 works to suspend the feeding of the wastes to the chute 6. Then, with a slide gate 7 opened, a lower impeller 4 is rotated to feed the wastes to discharge outlet 10. When the storage in the tank falls below a fixed level, the gate is closed
