Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the heating time to initiate polymerization and prepare vinyl chloride polymer having reduced fish-eyes with high productivity, by changing cool and warm water into a polymerization system separately.
CONSTITUTION: An autoclave is changed with a polymerization initiator, a suspension stabilizer, other additives, and 5W50wt% based on the total weight of water in the polymerization system of cool water at about 30°C or below, and deacrated. The autoclave is then charged with vinyl chloride or its mixture with other monoolefinic unsaturated monomers, and 95W50wt% based on the total weight of water to be present in the system of warm water at a temperature of the polymerization one to 100°C. Suspension polymerization is carried out at 30W80°C.
EFFECT: Vinyl chloride polymer of no fish-eye can be obtained free from coarse particles.
