Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the size of and simplify an assembly apparatus by driving each unit on an elevating and lowering plate with a common gear and the common elevating and lowering plate, and eliminating the elevating and lowering mechanism from each unit. CONSTITUTION:A vertical center shaft 43 is provided which can give the linear motion along the shaft and the oscillating motion about the shaft. At the top of this center shaft 43, a center gear 41 is fixed coaxially and an elevating and lowering plate 42 is installed coaxially and rotatably, which mounts operating units 96 and elevates and lowers them. Guide posts 57 and 58 are attached for guiding the elevating and lowering motion of the elevating and lowering plate 42, a rotary disc 80 is provided which is rotated intermittently by an indexing unit 51 consisting of a taper roller 88 and a barrel cam 89, and a driving unit 44 is provided which drives said center shaft 43 axially up and down and rotates the same at the same time. By so doing, the center gear 41 gives all the motions of transferring parts to the operating units 96.
