Abstract

PURPOSE: The title composition having high conductivity and no electrification, comprising a small amount of carbon black subjected to a specific pretreatment and a synthetic resin or rubber.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A synthetic resin or rubber is incorporated with (B) carbon black, which is oxidized by heating at 800W1,200°C in an atmosphere of steam or carbonic acid gas free from oxygen (≤2vol%, preferably ≤1vol% of oxygen), and has a specific surface area of 500W1,800m2/g, preferably 900W1,500M2g, a pore volume of 1.5W3.5cc/g, preferably 2.0W3.0cc/g, calculated as a pore radius of 75W 75,000 Å, in an amount of about 1/3W1/4, e.g. 3W70wt% preferably 5W50wt%, of that used in the case of the conventional composition, melt kneaded at about the melting point of the synthetic resin or rubber, and molded.
