Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect reflected light with separate photo detectors and enable information processing be performed parallel by providing plural condensing elements for plural scanning elements and radiating a light beam to plural scanning elements and radiating a light beam to plural sets of scanning patterns.
CONSTITUTION: Laser light 4 is radiated to the A, B in the scanning holograms 11 of a rotating disc 1 and 2 scanning patterns 81, 82 are so generated in a read window 7 that they do not spacially intersect. To detect the reflected light from an information carrier by said scanning patterns 81, 82, the condensing holograms A', B' which move in synchronization with the scanning holograms A, B and have a focus in the same position are provided on the same disc 1 and the beams are condensed on photo detectors 91, 92 respectively through said condensing holograms A, B' to be detected, whereby the separate reflection signals are obtained simultaneously. Thereby, parallel processing of read operation is made possible and reading may be made higher in speed.
