Abstract

PURPOSE: To separate leucocytes from erythrocytes, by disintegrating the erythrocytes in a dispersion of hematocytes, and letting the dispersion to flow repeatedly along the surface of a vibrating microporous membrane.
CONSTITUTION: A chamber 1 through which a hematocyte dispersion containing disintegrated erythrocytes flows, is separated from a chamber 2 which collects the filtrated components, with a vibrating supported membrane 3 having a number of micropores with diameters of 2W20 microns. Pressure pulse applied by a vibrator 6 to a hemolytic solution circulating by a pump 7, causes a slight vibration to the membrane 3. The hemolytic solution is circulated through a reservoir 8, the pump 7, and the vibrator 8 to the chamber 1, where the components other than leucocyte permeate through the membrane into the chamber 2.
