Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the optical conditions, to reduce the size of the apparatus and to generate stable reproduction signals having a high S/N ratio by using two light sources, which are suitable for recording and reproducing purposes, respectively, so that the iris positions of the respective beams may be adjusted by a focus controlling detector.
CONSTITUTION: A light beam a, which is produced by modulating the recording signals from a terminal A by a drive circuit 1, is generated from a semiconductor laser 2 so that it may be introduced through a condensing lens 3 and a tracking mirror 4 into the center of an iris lens 5. The light beam thus introduced is irised out the most at a point P into a fine spot, which is irradiated upon a disc 6 to record the information. The light beam 6 from a He-Ne laser 10 is enlarged by a projecting lens 11 so that it may be irradiated upon the disc 6 from the position out of the center of the lens 5. The splitter 12 changes the optical path of the reflected light c from the disc 6 to irradiate optical detectors 14 and 15. The output difference between the detectors 14 and 15 is fed to a lens drive device 13 so that the lens 5 may be moved up and down, even if the disc is vibrated by the rotations, so as to irradiate the fine spot P upon the disc.
