Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture an oriented electrical steel sheet of ultra low iorn loss contg. Si<=4% by introducing linear microstrains onto the surface of a mirror-finshed sheet. CONSTITUTION:Steel contg. Si<=4% is rolled, mirror-finished by electropolishing or the like, and given about 10-300mu wide linear microstrains by rotating hard small spheres, etc. An insulating film of ultraviolet-curing type or the like may be coated if necessary. The microstrains are desirable to be given with the space over 1mm.. By the treatment the iron loss is considerably reduced and hence an oriented electrical steel sheet with good excitation characteristics is obtd.
