Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the counterflow of gas from a space defined by an impeller and a scroll and improve the efficiency by providing a labyrinth seal on the low-deformation axial end face of the impeller.
CONSTITUTION: The labyrinth seal 11 located on the inlet end face of the impeller 1 is fixed by a screw 13 to the scroll 5 through a liner 12 so that the gap between the impeller 1 and the labyrinth 11 can be adjusted. Since the labyrinth 11 is provided on the low-deformation axial end face of the impeller 1, not only the influence of deformation of the impeller but also the influence of radial vibration are avoided. Therefore, the labyrinth seal gap can be made very small. This reduces the gas leakage and improves the efficiency of compressor
