Abstract

PURPOSE: To compensate the position deviation occuring in temperature change by providing a link arm whose position relations to a motor and base change with a change in temperature and making use of the temperature expansion of the link arm.
CONSTITUTION: This is the mechanism of moving a magnetic head 2 to the specified position of a magnetic disc 1 as the target to be positioned with a motor 6 for driving the magnetic head 2 as a positoner provided to a base 10, wherein the step motor 6 is fixed to a holder 8 and the holder 8 and base 10 are coupled by a link arm 13 by way of pins 14, 15. The relative position deviations between the magnetic head 2 and the signal tracks on the magnetic disc 1 produced owing to a change in temperature may be entirely mechanically removed through thermal expansion of the link arm 13 by suitably selecting the length of the link arm 13 and providing a suitable coefficient of thermal expansion thereto.
